After a couple huge days of work at the Bourgeois Pig, a lovely coffee shop in L.A., we had an incredibly fortunate stroke of luck. Aziz Ansari, one of my favorite comedians was performing that night at the Upright Citizens Brigate - Theatre, not 50 yards from where we were sitting. It cost $5 and was without a doubt, the best five bucks I’ve ever spent. There were only about 75 people there, and he was trying out all new material for a tour that he is going on this fall/winter. It was awesome. The rest of the guys from Human Giant hosted the night and the opening comics were pretty great too, particularly, Charlene Yi. Afterwards Aziz called me out and asked me to open for him when he goes on tour. Dreams really do come true in LA.
